Quote of the Week: Please do not pay attention

This week's Quote of the Week goes to GOP Presidential nominee Grampy McSame, who is looking for any excuse to get out of a planned debate with Democratic nominee Barrack Obama set for Friday evening at the University of Mississippi in Oxford.

A few days ago McSame said he'll suspend his campaign and return to Washington to join talks over the Bush administration's proposed $700 billion bailout of Wall Street. He also said he wouldn't take part in Friday's scheduled debate unless the crisis is resolved. Obama said president's have to do more than one thing at a time, and you wonder how much effort it takes to hop on a place from DC to Tennessee to debate for 90 minutes then fly back.

Obama said he plans to be there, and there is word a deal in principle on the bailout has been reached, meaning McSame may have to go to class and get schooled.

"I always believe that ultimately, if people are paying attention, then we get good government and good leadership. And when we get lazy, as a democracy and civically start taking shortcuts, then it results in bad government and politics.
SEN. BARACK OBAMA, MSNBC interview, Sep. 25, 2006

McSame and the Republicans are desperately hoping the American public is not paying attention.

Barrry Obama, like McCain, has a job to do. It's called being a senator.

Debates are important, but fixing this crap that Barney Frank and company got us into is priority one, and both of them are in a position to hopefully do it, or at least not screw it up any further.

Here is the best quote of the week. Slick Willy on Larry King Live.

WHO'S SIDE IS THIS GUY ON, HE IS GREAT.

Clinton told King he would be hitting the campaign trail for Obama in Florida, to Ohio, to northeast Pennsylvania, and Nevada “at a minimum" in October, “AFTER THE JEWISH HOLIDAYS” are over.

"Are you kind of feeling Jewish that you're waiting until after the Jewish holidays?" asked King.
"No. But I think it would be — if we're trying to win in Florida, it may be that — you know, they think that because of who I am and where my political base has traditionally been, they may want me to go sort of hustle up what Lawton Chiles used to call the 'CRACKER VOTE' there.

Quote From Alcee Hastings. The Liberal party playing the race card in a desperate bid the help their Bi-racial candidate.

Florida Democratic Congressman Alcee Hastings pointed to Sarah Palin on Wednesday to rally Jews to Obama.

"If Sarah Palin isn’t enough of a reason for you to get over whatever your problem is with Barack Obama, then you damn well had better pay attention," said Hastings. "Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks. So, you just think this through."

"Barney Frank and Company got us into?" Unbelievable. I had no idea he had so much power. What's Bush, a figurehead? If you don't want to screw it up any worse, keep Grampy McSame and his economic advisors, especially Phil "Foreclosure" Gramm, away from Washington, D.C. But hell, this is no big deal. It's just a mental recession, and we are just a notation of whiners. Let's just get government the hell out of the way.

I think Grampy can take an hour from his schedule to tell the American voters his position on the mental recession.

Great quote, thanks for posting it, hate America. Of course, anything you post needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

I agree, Commie or dead. Usually it’s the Senate Republicans blocking progress, now it's the House Republicans.

Dan said...

How the hell can the house republicans "block progress" when they don't have a majority of the votes?

Bush/Dodd/Obama's plan sucks and needs to be opposed anyway. We don't need bailouts for rich people like Goldman Sacks with the profits, if any, going to crooks at ACORN

They are not even at the point of voting on a plan. They are, at least last night, in the negotiations stage, and they stormed out of the negotiations. I guess they want a bipartisan plan. I say screw the House Republicans. Hell, I don't even think it’s the House Republicans, it's the rightwing tools. I know they control the Republics Party, but there are still a few moderate Republicans.

It's funny that the party of Wall Street doesn't want to bail put Wall Street, especially after the bailouts that have taken place already. If Bush alone was pushing this I would agree with you with his past record, but some reliable people like Rep. Barney Frank and Sen. Chris Dodd give it more credibility.

Guru, don't the Dem's control congress? If there bill is so good pass it and Bush will sign it. But no the Demorats don't want to pass the bill as it must stink. They want the GOP to vote on it so they can push the blame on someone else.

Reliable people like Frank and Dodd, your crop of weed must have been a good one this year, Toke on hippy.

Biden Quote of the week.

And Palin is a poor choice?

In an interview with “CBS Evening News,” Biden misspoke when he told anchor Katie Couric that today's leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow former President Franklin D. Roosevelt's response to a previous national financial crisis.

Declared Biden: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'”

What's wrong with that, some might ask?

Well, for starters Republican Herbert Hoover was president when the stock market crashed in October 1929. Second, Roosevelt didn't take office until four years later. And, not to be picky, but there were also no televisions in use at the time. Radio was Roosevelt's favored medium.

Yes, hate America, the Democrats control Congress. But the problem is they do not have enough of a majority in the Senate to overcome the Senate republicans from blocking a bill. Nor do they have a veto proof majority.

Did you just call me a hippy? Please, you idiot.
