Teabagger Republican Congressional candidate adds hypocrisy to his resume

Rob Steele, the teabagger Republican Congressional candidate for the 15th District, continues to amaze with his arrogance, dishonesty and hypocrisy.

After whining that the incumbent - the dean of the U.S. House Rep. John Dingell, D-Dearborn, - will not debate him, it turns out it’s Steele who is afraid to debate and is ducking. Steele cried almost daily on his Facebook page that Dingell is only going to events where people support him, and avoiding debates or meetings with non-supporters. Steele said he was “Continuing Congressman Dingell's strategy to avoid public forums with his constituents, he met with "about a dozen" handpicked small-business people.” He even made the absurd claim that Dingell is never in the district or accessible to constituents.

It turns out that Dingell sent a letter to Steele right after he won the August primary election congratulating him and asking for debates, but all Steele did was lie and cry that Dingell was avoiding him. After a month of blustering from Steele, Dingell finally sent a letter on Tuesday asking that Steele commit to as many debates as possible, and Dingell says he looks forward to appearing at voters forums put on by various groups like the AARP and others. Dingell has already accepted an invitation from Monroe Community College to debate. It’s unclear if Steele will appear.

The only response from the Steele camp has been silence.

Not much is really known about Steele, other than he is rich, arrogant and dishonest, so the Michigan Democratic Party launched a web site this week to let people know who the real Steele is.

What’s was Steele’s response? He hijacked the name “John Dingell for Congress” for a web site to attack Dingell for his age. This is where Steele’s hypocrisy is on full display.

Earlier this month Steele made a big stink with the false claim that Dingell’s web site redesign copied Steel’s web site. It even led to a story in the online “newspaper” Ann Arbor.com. with the claim that Dingell copied Steele. Well, Steele clearly copied Dingell.

I would ask Steele if he has no shame, but I already know the answer to that question. So, I’ll ask him this one: when are you going to accept the challenge and debate instead of stalling and blustering?

So now it's Steele that won't debate, huh? Poor Dingell. This hasn't been an issue until it comes out in the national news that Dingell is in some trouble with this election.

Personally, I think they should debate. They'll have to hook up a bell instead of lights to let Dingell know it's his turn. The bell would be like an alarm clock for him. "Pssst. Mr. Dingell, wake up and say something."

It's funny how you're silent about debates, until Dingell starts slipping in the polls and now wants to debate.

As for Snyder, if I was him, I'd not debate Bernero. New numbers came out yesterday and Bernero is losing ground. So their debate is Bernero whining about not being able to debate, tries to crash a town hall of Snyders, and Snyder is very gracious and invites Bernero up on stage with him and they both answer questions from the audience. Gee, that sounds like a town hall style debate.

As long as the numbers improve for Snyder, especially when they should be tightening up, he has no incentive to debate. His message is getting out without the debates. According to the poll, everyone likes Snyder. Men, women, children, workers, unemployed, Republicans, Independents. I think even pets of everyoneare for Snyder.

Bernero has to gain 4 points per week between now and the election. He has yet to make a gain on Snyder, let alone 4 points. This could be a blowout bigger than the joke Geoffrey Feiger a few years back.

Mr. Dingell, time to wake up. It's your turn to speak.

I’m assume you can read, anonymous coward, so the answer is yes.

I don’t know about that. Dingell issued the challenge to debate on Aug. 6, and I have been volunteering for Dingell since last August. The national news had nothing to do with it.

Personally, I think they should debate too. I don’t have a lot of respect for those who don’t. It sends a clear message that they and their ideas can’t stand up to scrutiny. You can make all the jokes you want about Dingell’s’ age, but he will bury Steele. Why do you think the challenger is stalling about debates?

“It's funny how silent I am about debates?” Are you kidding, anonymous coward?

Of course Snyder shouldn’t debate. His form of debate is spending his millions of dollars made shipping jobs overseas on 30-secodn commercials building a false image of “one tough nerd.” What he really is, is one scared wimp. The first time he has to defend his, well he has no positions; he will fold like an expensive Armani suit.

It sure does sound like a “town hall style debate.” The only problem was Bernero only showed up to deliver a personal letter asking the two to sit down and talk about debates. They did answer questions, but the 100 or so people at the country club were Snyder supporters their by invitation. You have to register to attend by giving your email address, setting yourself up to receive false propaganda, and only if you hear about these stealth townhall meetings.

If people really knew about Snyder’s positions, or lack of them, “Men, women, children, workers, unemployed, Republicans, Independents” would not like him. That’s why he doesn’t want a wide audience to really know him, other than the 30-second TV spots.

He’s an empty Armani suit.

Like I said, Dingell will bury Steele.

Again, anonymous coward, I’m still waiting for you to back up your outrageous lie that we were “nearly shoulder to shoulder once.”

Class warfare? Hatred of those that educate themselves, get a good job and make lots of money. That's it? You need a new song because right now, with you it's just second verse, same as the first.

Oh wait. Those that earn more money aren't being good socialists. Of course you'd hate the rich...or in your case, anyone making more than $20K per year.

“Class warfare? Hatred of those that educate themselves, get a good job and make lots of money?” I have no idea where you got that, anonymous coward coward. What I see is a guy who is out of touch, and getting rich off a broken health care system he doesn’t want to change. But, I also don’t see what that has to do with a guy who whines about debates, and then stalls or a guy who whines about having his web site copied then actually does that. I see a hypocrite.

Ah, the personal attacks. That didn’t take long, anonymous coward.
