McCain VP choice is just one more example of pandering

The subtext for Grampy McSame's decision to choose Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, 44, as his running mate has to be he can no longer criticize Barack Obama for his alleged inexperience or is there anything he will not do or say to win what he calls the prize?

The choice of Palin – who outside of the populace state of Alaska who has heard of her – means he cannot say Obama is inexperienced. The former Miss Alaska runner up has only served a pair of 2-yer terms on the Wasilla City Council – population 5,470 – and six years as mayor. She has then served a total of two years as Governor. Does that make her ready to lead the free world?

Grampy's choice of a woman is the worst kind of pandering to go after the women upset that Hilary Clinton did not win the Democratic nomination. It seems to me he thinks voters, and especially women voters, are stupid, and they just vote for a candidate for their gender.

So it's pandering for McCain to pick a strong Conservative woman that has fought corruption, killed the bridge to nowhere and reduced taxes and been successful in everything?

Apparently, the writer of this blog must think that the Democrats choosing Barack Hussein Obama is pandering as well by going after more black voters.

It really sounds like you're more worried that McCain has chosen a very strong Conservative and as we all know, this country is Conservative.

Yes, it's pandering for McCain to choose a woman running mate, especially if you consider his abysmal voting record on women's issues. The American Association of University Women gave McCain a grade of 0 and the National Organization for Women him a grade of 13.
http://www.votesmart.org/issue_rating_category.php?can_id=53270

McSame also opposed Equal Pay Bill for Women, and he voted to gut the Family and Medical Leave Act.

Successful in everything? She lost a GOP primary for Lt. Governor. More importantly, you think serving as the mayor of a small town and two years as governor makes her qualified to run the entire country? I don't think so? Barack Obama has far more experience than she does.

Are you seriously saying the millions of Americans who voted for Obama only voted for him because he was black? What a racist thing to say. He is going after all voters, regardless of race, gender or ethnicity. And the writer of this blog thinks you must be a racist to say something that stupid.

She may be a strong conservative, and that's great. But a very inexperienced one. How much foreign policy experience does she have? Plus, I think this country has had enough of conservatives like Bush

The country is not conservative, and most Americans hold the same views and values as the Democrats, the party of the middle class.

So between them, they only average four homes apiece.

How much foriegn experience does Barack Hussein Obama have? None.

What state was Obama Governor of? None.

What executive experience does Obama have? None.

The family and medical leave act? You're not serious. That was a bad bill, is a bad bill and the additions proposed to it are even worse.

You're really going to use the NOW gang for a rating? Another silly thing for you to say.

You call me a racist (as if this is a surprise), because I'm against Obama, so I guess that would make you a sexist since you think the choice of Palin is pandering.

If I told you my children were half black, you'd have to sit down and rethink that racist stuff again.

This tells you a little more about why Palin was chosen.
On Aug. 1, Palin scored a major victory when the Alaska legislature passed a bill that authorizes her administration to award a license to TransCanada Alaska to build a 1,715-mile natural gas pipeline from Prudhoe Bay on Alaska’s North Slope to a hub in Canada.

The pipeline would be the largest construction project in the history of North America. If completed as hoped within ten years, it would ship 4.5 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day. The United States imported about 10 billion cubic feet of natural gas per day in 2007.

Who's Big Oil's bestest buddy? McCain!!!

Also, Palin appears to have something in common with Kwame...they both like to fire people for personal and/or political reasons.
Under investigation for firing
But Palin’s seemingly bright future was clouded in late July when the state legislature voted to hire an independent investigator to find out whether she tried to have a state official fire her ex-brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper.

Experience: Barack Hussein Obama; 143 days in the Senate.

Sarah Palin: Two years as Governor of Alaska.

Palin did more work for the state of Alaska in her two years as the Governor than Obama did in the Senate.

Palin's first act as Governor of Alaska was to sell the plane. She took a picture, put it on E-bay and made a profit for the State.

Obama's most notable quote from the Illinois legislature: "Present".

Here's a little more info...

# Palin is the least qualified and experienced running mate in the history of the office, having served a total of 20 months in office, and none on the national level.
# Does anyone really want Sarah Palin a heartbeat away from the Presidency should McCain become unable to serve?
# Although known as a reformer, Palin is a product of the corrupt Alaskan political machine, and is even under criminal investigation herself for abusing the power of her office.
# Can she possibly face off against Joe Biden on any issue?
# She pronounces “nuclear” like George Bush. I knew that the GOP ticket wanted to continue Bush’s policies….but four more years of Bushisms too!?
She supports Obama’s energy plan, all but undercutting the one supposed strength she brings to the ticket.
Well, at least she's got that going for her.

He is a member of the Foreign relations committee, he has visited Iraq and Afghanistan and he has lived overseas. How much foreign experience does what’s her name have?

How does being the governor of a sparsely populated state like Alaska for two years qualify you to be president? By the way, you said Obama was not really raised in the U.S. because he grew up in Hawaii? Will you say the same thing about McSame’s desperation pick who was raised in Alaska?

You think being the mayor of a town of less than 6,000 people qualifies as executive experience?

Yes I am going to use the “NOW Gang” for a rating. The family and medical leave ac is a bad bill? How I the hell did you guys ever claim you are the party of family values.

Yes, I call you a racist. If you want to stick by that stupid remark that millions of people only voted for Obama because he was black, yes. I did not say the pick of Palin was bad because she was a woman, I said it was bad because she has no national experience, and he is picking her only because she is a woman. People voted for Obama for President, no one voted for her.

I don’t give a damm what the racial make up of your children is. If you stick to that stupid statement then you’re a racist. It has nothing to do with whether you support Obama or not. Remember this: Strom Thurmond fathered a child with a black woman.

What does Bernie Ward, who ever he is, have to do with Grampy McSame’s VP pick. Put this bullshit on your “blog.”

Communications guru said...

Man you are really spin the Grampy’s pick. Obama was elected to the Senate in 2004. Even if you counted just actual session days, it’s more than 143. Regardless, it would be 143 more days of notational experience than she has.

Obama was elected to the state Senate in 1996. In our form of government, the three braches are equal. Plus, Illinois is a hack of a lot more populous and complex than Alaska. Your ridiculous statement that “Palin did more work for the state of Alaska in her two years as the Governor than Obama did in the Senate” is based on nothing but your hatred for Obama.

If you think that’s all Obama did in the state Senate then you are just playing dumb.

Tell you what. If you stop saying Obama is inexperienced, I’ll do the same for palin, no matter how woefully inexperienced she is. Hell, Dan Quayle had more experience than she has.

Dan said...

Palin has done more in her two years as governor than Obama has done in his entire political career. Palin delivered real change. Obama hasn't delivered jack-shit.

She seems to share some traits with Kilpatrick

And, if that weren't enough, when Public Safety would NOT fire Wooten, she fired him and replaced him with someone who would...someone who likes to sexually harass folks...

Keep up the good work Republicans! I knew you wouldn't let us down.

Gee, that’s the first tine I have head that talking point. Perhaps you guys should check with each other before you use it on the same blog on the same day. First, she has been governor less than two years. Second, your ridiculous statement that she has done more than “Obama has done in his entire political career” is just plain stupid and not based on fact. Hell, I think Gerri Moen, the Mayor of Howell, should be Grampy McSame’s running mate. Howell is bigger than Wasilla, and Moen has been the mayor longer.

And based on her ethics investigation, it’s just more of the same.

Regardless, I guess you can stop that idiotic argument that Obama is inexperienced.

He's visited Afghanistan and lived overseas?

I've visited California. It doesn't make me an expert on California.

Obama did live overseas. When he was a kid. That's foreign policy experience? You're really stretching here.

I did not say 'he grew up in Hawaii which means that he didn't grow up in the United States'. He grew up in Indonesia. He was adopted by his stepfather and went to school there. Now, I realize that Obama thinks we have 57 states, but you can trust me on this. Indonesia is not one of the states of the United States.

Just so you know, Hawaii became a state before Barack Hussein Obama was born. That made it part of the USA.

I like this attack on small towns in America that the Obama campaign is starting up again. He got in trouble for that with his small town, religion, with guns comments several weeks ago. Now, the liberals are again playing the part of elitist by saying she's from a town of less than 9,000 as if small towns in America aren't American.

You just have to love the liberals panic over this choice for the Republican VP position.

The Democratic Convention, if you’re looking for real issues you won’t find them. Instead of talking about his platform and his objectives, Barry’s cast of speakers is simply mouthing vague promises—not talking about his political goals or his political record.

Barry likes to keep things vague when it comes to policy, true to that spirit, the communists seem determined to hide their liberalism behind moderate speakers in this convention, speakers who offer up rhetoric that gives little hint of there Demorat agenda.”

Monday, instead of “America at a Crossroads,” we got Michelle Obama and Ted Kennedy. Tuesday instead of “Renewing America’s Promise” and economic issues, we got Hillary Clinton. Wednesday's focus was national security, and former president Bill Clinton and vice-presidential hopeful Joe Biden took the podium.

Barry's speech was no better Using a stage designed by a Britney Spears associate, Barry launched an all-out assault on McCain and called for change, his nearly 4,700-word speech included just 79 words that could even vaguely be construed as him pointing to a record of actually bringing about change.

Here's an example that is small but revealing. Barry led with the best sales pitch he has to offer: that he is not George Bush. But of course, Barry is running against John McCain, not Bush. So he attempted to justify the substitution by claiming that "John McCain has voted with George Bush ninety percent of the time." This statistic has been used throughout the Democratic convention, but it makes no sense. Bush is not a member of Congress and casts no votes there--so how can you compare his voting record to that of McCain?

America is still be under a hazy cloud, not knowing where our Barry stands on the critical issues we face—the economy, healthcare, foreign relations, and America’s energy future.

You're not a liar are you?

Yes, he visited Afghanistan and lived overseas. I will admit it doesn’t make you a foreign policy expert, but it gives you a little more sophistication to deal with and understand world leaders. It’s certainly unlike Bush who had zero foreign experience, and you know what a disaster his foreign policy is. Regardless, Obama is on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Speaking of stretching, you said he didn’t even grow up in the U.S. Now, there are many U.S. citizens who live and lived overseas, including Grampy McSame and two of my children, but that does not disqualify them to do what every other U.S. citizen can do.

Obama did not attack small towns in America. You, as usual completely took that quote out of context and changed it. Like I said before, being the Mayor of Howell does not qualify you to be President of the United States of America. It has nothing to do with being anti-small town. I live in a small town, and I know many liberal Democrats here in Howell.

Liberals are in a “panic over this choice for the Republican VP position?” Why? What qualifies her to lead the country? Perhaps you are not aware of this, but the Democrats already had the first women vice-president candidate in 1984.

I can’t wait until the VP debates in October. The chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will kick her ass.

You obviously did not watch the convention, hate America. Sen. Obama laid out his plans for the most important issues facing America, energy policy and the economy. Show me any acceptance speech in history where it’s is chock full of policy details. If you can, I’ll bet you will show me a loser.

Communists? Please. You’re just showing your ignorance.

You are again wrong. Grampy McSame and Bush are the same. Like Obama said: what does it say about Grampy’s judgment when he voted with bush 90-95 percent of the time, and he picks a possible president whose only qualification was as a small town mayor and less than two years as governor of a sparsely populated state?

Are you that dumb to say “Bush is not a member of Congress and casts no votes there?” He proposes legislation, such as the Patriot Act. You need to check out Congressional Quarterly then see if you stick by that dumb statement.

If you don’t know his positions that’s your fault.

Yes, I can see how being a three year old, living in a foreign country attending a muslim school can give you sophistication and understanding of world leaders. Sheesh. Do they allow you to walk in public unsupervised?

So you missed his 'hate small town America, guns and religion' position eh? Too bad. You could have learned something.

Her qualifications are more apparent than those of Barack Hussein Obama, who has never run a company, a business, a city, nor a state. Then there's the common sense factor, but that won't work because Obama doesn't have any common sense.

Palin is going to be your new VP. Get used to it. The liberal McCain made an excellent choice. I will be anxiously awaiting her run for President when McCain is done.

You are so full of crap. Those talking points/lies have long been debunked, but you still cling to them. It stinks of the same kind of desperation as Grampy McSame picking someone like this unqualified person.

He attended public school - not a “Muslim school - in Indonesia until age 10, not age three. There’s one more of your lies. What this does, something you know nothing about, is teach tolerance of people different. He is more than “on a committee.” He is on the Foreign Relations Committee. Where are you getting that 143 day talking point? Like I said in a previous comment, he has been in the Senate for four years. How does that equal 143 days. You ignored it last time, are you going to stick to your debate style of ignoring what you can’t prove or disprove?

No, I didn’t miss the remark. How could anyone. You just took it out of context and misrepresented it, as usual. What Obama said was that Pennsylvania's small town voters are bitter about losing jobs and that to explain their frustrations, they "cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them."

That, unfortunately, is true. Now, he has said he said it wrong. It seems ironic that you are dismissing him as just a good speaker and its just words, yet he’s grilled for a misstatement.

Her qualifications are in no way close to Sen. Obama. A beauty queen runner up from the University of Idaho is no match for Barack Obama or Joe Biden. This was a desperation pick, nothing else, and an irresponsible one if a miracle happens and Grampy actually wins. He would have been better off picking Michael Palin, at least he’s funny. Tell me why the Mayor of Howell would not make a good VP candidate? Howell is bigger than wsever she was mayor of.

Obama is ahead in the polls for a good reason, and he will stay there. She is nothing more and will remain nothing more than your VP candidate. This is not even an historic pick, the Democrats did that more than 20 years ago. She may run for president in four years, but she will be running against an incumbent President Obama. I doubt she will even win the GOP nomination because she is too inexperienced and has accomplished nothing. Then she can then go back to obscurity to run Alaska, that is if she survives her ethics investigation.

Again, you can call grampy a lot of things, but he is not a liberal. I’m a liberal.

Anonymous said...

I don't remember saying the "pick" was historic. It will be historic when McCain wins the election. She'll then be the first female VP in history. But I don't care about that. What I care about is that she is more than qualified and will be a great VP and if McCain doesn't make it through his term(s), she'll make a great President.

You put yourself on a par with McCain? He's liberal. What you are is unrepeatable.

You like calling people racists at the drop of a hat, so I thought you and your reader might be interested in this:

Why Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican
By Frances Rice

It should come as no surprise that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Republican. In that era, almost all black Americans were Republicans. Why? From its founding in 1854 as the anti-slavery party until today, the Republican Party has championed freedom and civil rights for blacks. And as one pundit so succinctly stated, the Democrat Party is as it always has been, the party of the four S's: Slavery, Secession, Segregation and now Socialism.

It was the Democrats who fought to keep blacks in slavery and passed the discriminatory Black Codes and Jim Crow laws. The Democrats started the Ku Klux Klan to lynch and terrorize blacks. The Democrats fought to prevent the passage of every civil rights law beginning with the civil rights laws of the 1860's, and continuing with the civil rights laws of the 1950's and 1960's.

During the civil rights era of the 1960's, Dr. King was fighting the Democrats who stood in the school house doors, turned skin-burning fire hoses on blacks and let loose vicious dogs. It was Republican President Dwight Eisenhower who pushed to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and sent troops to Arkansas to desegregate schools. President Eisenhower also appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to the U.S. Supreme Court which resulted in the 1954 Brown vs. Board of Education decision ending school segregation. Much is made of Democrat President Harry Truman's issuing an Executive Order in 1948 to desegregate the military. Not mentioned is the fact that it was President Eisenhower who actually took action to effectively end segregation in the military.

Democrat President John F. Kennedy is lauded as a proponent of civil rights. However, Kennedy voted against the 1957 Civil rights Act while he was a senator, as did Democrat Senator Al Gore, Sr. And after he became president, John F. Kennedy was opposed to the 1963 March on Washington by Dr. King that was organized by A. Phillip Randolph who was a black Republican. President Kennedy, through his brother Attorney General Robert Kennedy, had Dr. King wiretapped and investigated by the FBI on suspicion of being a Communist in order to undermine Dr. King.

In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King's leaving Memphis, Tennessee after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, called Dr. King a "trouble-maker" who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

Given the circumstances of that era, it is understandable why Dr. King was a Republican. It was the Republicans who fought to free blacks from slavery and amended the Constitution to grant blacks freedom (13th Amendment), citizenship (14th Amendment) and the right to vote (15th Amendment). Republicans passed the civil rights laws of the 1860's, including the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Reconstruction Act of 1867 that was designed to establish a new government system in the Democrat-controlled South, one that was fair to blacks. Republicans also started the NAACP and affirmative action with Republican President Richard Nixon‘s 1969 Philadelphia Plan (crafted by black Republican Art Fletcher) that set the nation‘s first goals and timetables. Although affirmative action now has been turned by the Democrats into an unfair quota system, affirmative action was begun by Nixon to counter the harm caused to blacks when Democrat President Woodrow Wilson in 1912 kicked all of the blacks out of federal government jobs.

Few black Americans know that it was Republicans who founded the Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Unknown also is the fact that Republican Senator Everett Dirksen from Illinois was key to the passage of civil rights legislation in 1957, 1960, 1964 and 1965. Not mentioned in recent media stories about extension of the 1965 Voting Rights Act is the fact that Dirksen wrote the language for the bill. Dirksen also crafted the language for the Civil Rights Act of 1968 which prohibited discrimination in housing. President Lyndon Johnson could not have achieved passage of civil rights legislation without the support of Republicans.

Critics of Republican Senator Barry Goldwater who ran for president against Democrat President Lyndon Johnson in 1964, ignore the fact that Goldwater wanted to force the Democrats in the South to stop passing discriminatory laws and thus end the need to continuously enact federal civil rights legislation.

Those who wrongly criticize Goldwater, also ignore the fact that President Johnson, in his 4,500 State of the Union Address delivered on January 4, 1965, mentioned scores of topics for federal action, but only thirty five words were devoted to civil rights. He did not mention one word about voting rights. Then in 1967, showing his anger with Dr. King's protest against the Viet Nam War, President Johnson referred to Dr. King as "that Nigger preacher."

Contrary to the false assertions by Democrats, the racist "Dixiecrats" did not all migrate to the Republican Party. "Dixiecrats" declared that they would rather vote for a "yellow dog" than vote for a Republican because the Republican Party was known as the party for blacks. Today, some of those "Dixiecrats" continue their political careers as Democrats, including Democrat Senator Robert Byrd who is well known for having been a "Keagle" in the Ku Klux Klan.

Another former "Dixiecrat" is Democrat Senator Ernest Hollings who put up the Confederate flag over the state capitol when he was the governor of South Carolina. There was no public outcry when Democrat Senator Christopher Dodd praised Senator Byrd as someone who would have been "a great senator for any moment," including the Civil War. Democrats denounced Senator Trent Lott for his remarks about Senator Strom Thurmond. Senator Thurmond was never in the Ku Klux Klan and defended blacks against lynching and the discriminatory poll taxes imposed on blacks by Democrats. If Senator Byrd and Senator Thurmond were alive during the Civil War, and Byrd had his way, Thurmond would have been lynched.
The thirty-year odyssey of the South switching to the Republican Party began in the 1970's with President Richard Nixon's "Southern Strategy" which was an effort on the Part of Nixon to get Christians in the South to stop voting for Democrats who did not share their values and were still discriminating against their fellow Christians who happened to be black. Georgia did not switch until 2002, and some Southern states, including Louisiana, are still controlled by Democrats.

Today, Democrats, in pursuit of their socialist agenda, are fighting to keep blacks poor, angry and voting for Democrats. Examples of how egregiously Democrats act to keep blacks in poverty are numerous.

After wrongly convincing black Americans that a minimum wage increase was a good thing, the Democrats on August 3rd kept their promise and killed the minimum wage bill passed by House Republicans on July 29th. The blockage of the minimum wage bill was the second time in as many years that Democrats stuck a legislative finger in the eye of black Americans. Senate Democrats on April 1, 2004 blocked passage of a bill to renew the 1996 welfare reform law that was pushed by Republicans and vetoed twice by President Bill Clinton before he finally signed it. Since the welfare reform law expired in September 2002, Congress had passed six extensions, and the latest expired on June 30, 2004. Opposed by the Democrats are school choice opportunity scholarships that would help black children get out of failing schools and Social Security reform, even though blacks on average lose $10,000 in the current system because of a shorter life expectancy than whites (72.2 years for blacks vs. 77.5 years for whites).

Democrats have been running our inner-cities for the past 30-40 years, and blacks are still complaining about the same problems. Over $7 trillion dollars have been spent on poverty programs since President Lyndon Johnson's War on Poverty with little, if any, impact on poverty. Diabolically, every election cycle, Democrats blame Republicans for the deplorable conditions in the inner-cities, then incite blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans.

In order to break the Democrats' stranglehold on the black vote and free black Americans from the Democrat Party's economic plantation, we must shed the light of truth on the Democrats. We must demonstrate that the Democrat Party policies of socialism and dependency on government handouts offer the pathway to poverty, while Republican Party principles of hard work, personal responsibility, getting a good education and ownership of homes and small businesses offer the pathway to prosperity.

You're always talking about the wonderful crowds at Barack Hussein Obama's visits. In Oregon a couple of months ago, it was widely reported by the libera media that he drew 72,000. What they didn't tell you was that a popular band from the Northwest was playing there and that's what people came to see. The bands name was the "decemberists". I'm sure, if you know anything about history that you're familiar with that name. If not, you might want to look them up. By the way, they play the national anthem for Russia at all of their concerts. Here's the story on the European Tour of Obama:

Press Agents, the cream in a politician's coffee.
-You may already know this but if not:-
---
As Paul Harvey would say, 'Here's The Rest of the Story.'

There is something the American New Media seem to have left out.

How do you attract 200,000 Germans to an American presidential candidate's
campaign rally in Berlin?

A. With the charisma and reputation of the presidential candidate?

B. With a compelling political message?

C. With lots of advance advertising?

D.With the top two rock bands in Germany giving a free concert with the American
candidate coming out for a short speech between the bands?

'D' of course. With the American media following and fawning over Obama, they
failed to mention his Berlin speech was not why the crowds were really there.
More than 95% of those attending didn't understand English, and could care less
about Obama or American politics. They came to see a free concert with the
German equiva lents of Willy Nelson and Madonna headlining.

Obama's unwelcome and boring interruption - giving a political speech in a
foreign language between the acts - resulted in the crowd giving lame applause a
couple of times. Obama didn't care about the crowd either. His speech was
really for the American media and the crowd was a backdrop for the photo ops.
The American media bit on it hook line and sinker and just sorta, kinda, forgot
to mention it was the rock bands that really drew the crowds.
Perhaps I should add, it worked in Berlin and now tonight in Denver as Sheryl Crow, Stevie Wonder, and Michael McDonald played a free concert preceding Obama.

Regarding the Dixiecrats...yes, they were part of the Democratic party, and Southern Democrats were notorious racists...they left and joined the Republican party, and being weak minded like they are, allowed their racists, eliminationist poison to become their bread-and-butter. The Democrats got rid of their racist trash...the Republicans picked it up and put it in their living rooms.

As the father of 2 black kids, you should be ashamed of yourself for associating yourself with the Republican party.

Funny how Palin was the VP pick for about 15 seconds before the Old Media went after her "inexperience" while they have yet to hit Barry Obama on HIS inexperience at all and he's been running for president since 2004. We should also note that Palin didn't get the honeymoon that Biden got when his announcement was made. But, the worst is yet to come and the Daily Kos is doing its level best to mine the lowest of lows. In a Kos diary today, it is being alleged that Sarah Palin "faked" the pregnancy of her last child, a baby born with Down's Syndrome. The claim is that it was her teenaged daughter's child, not hers. And, true to form, the Kossacks took that absurd calumny and hate even further in the comments.
With all the pseudo gravity the Kos diarist could muster, this ridiculous story of a "cover-up" was floated for the foolish Kossacks to lap up. Inky99 gave us the scurrilous diary headlined "Palin's faked 'pregnancy'? Covering for teen daughter?," in which the Kossacks posit that Governor Palin covered up her own teenage daughter's teen pregnancy by pretending it is her own child instead of her daughter's.
But it appears that Pallin's last child, a baby with Down's syndrome, may not be hers. It may be that of her teenage daughter.
Actually, "it appears" in no way to be true. The diarist gives a story from the Anchoage Daily News that does not in any way prove the diarist's claim — nor even broach the subject of a faked pregnancy, for that matter.
The Kos diarist then goes on to claim that the "proof" of this claim is that Palin's teenage daughter was sick and out of public eye for a few months earlier in the year.
Apparently her teenage daughter was out of school, unseen, for months, because she "had mono".
And, even if this story is true, why is it one worth pursuing? Why it's because Palin is pro-life, you see…
… seeing as how she's quite willing to butt into the private lives of every other American woman, I think it's fair game.
Yeah. Stay classy Daily Kos.
And the diary entry isn't the worst of it. The comments get more vicious as each one passes. Here are a few:
Commenter psilocynic posted, "Ethics violations out the ass. And she covered for her unwed prego teen! this keeps getting better! History, my dear kossacks. We are watching the death of the rethugican party!"
Next concernedamerican posted a slam on Palin's commitment to her baby. "She decided not to take maternity leave with this pregnancy!!!! What's up with that? With a special needs baby?" And then went on to accept the claims without proof saying, "Kind of hypocritical to push abstinence programs in schools and then cover up your own teenage daughter's pregnancy with a lie that you had the baby yourself, dontcha think?"
Not4bushwa also assumed it was all true merely because it was posted on DailyKos, saying: "If Palin had come clean about her daughter or if McCain had vetted her more carefully and not chosen her, this would not be a story. But she didn't and he didn't. Tough luck, poor judgment, another right-wing hypocrite scandal." And later wrote, "This is a big lie. Why the excessive secrecy? So much shame for a fairly common predicament–teenage pregnancy? I wonder: Who's the father?"
Obviously, since a Kos diarist posted this garbage story, many Kossacks will simply believe it is true despite that there is no proof at all for even a single word of the accusations.
Poster sailmaker finds Motherhood so disgusting that he can't imagine a vice president doing it, posting that his "mind boggles at the idea of a lactating VP." That's classy, isn't it?
Poster Subversive really went for the gutter with, "The only thing missing from this story is that the baby wasn't Black."
Not content just to indulge in this conspiracy theory, poster TrentinaNE really went for the black helicopters. "Maybe it's a set-up to get rid of McCain. The story(ies) about Palin come out, he looks like a doofus and withdraws from the race, the Rethugs nominate Romney. Sounds implausible, I know, but I wouldn't write off anything in Roveland."
I think someone forgot their meds that morning. What a nutcase theory that was!
These are just a few of the over-the-top posts on DailyKos concerning the lies that Palin faked her pregnancy. This is the sort of garbage we see everyday from the haters and rumormongers on extremist leftist sites like Kos and the Democratic Underground, even Huffington Post, for that matter.

Yep, scurrilous lies, fact twisting, taking facts out of context, and rumor mongering are a bitch aren't they?

I wonder where the majority of that comes from? Oh, yes, from the Republicans.

Now, take it like the little douche you are and get out of the way.

Heck Brett, I think you post over here more than at the fishwrapper your write on occasionally.

Welcome to the Republican Police State Convention, where just thinking about protesting gets your door kicked in.

THAT is what the Republicans are all about...quelling dissent, intimidating those who disagree, imprisoning those that don't follow the party line.

Brett must be so proud.

Wow. I go away from my computer for a few hours for a family cookout, and I get five comments from you. You should try to get away from the computer and spend some time with family for a change. I guess I’ll have to answer them. When people take the time to post I try to respond, even the offensive ones. That’s one reason I have the 4th highest rated blog in Michigan, at least this week.

Perhaps you didn’t say it was historic, but I heard a rightwing tool say it somewhere. I really can’t tell you people apart. I stand corrected. But there you go again, you ignore what you can’t prove or disprove and latch on to this kind of insignificant crap.

Well, Sen. Obama has already made history as the first African-American to ever accept the nomination of a major political party for president, and when he wins in November he will be the first black president. Palin will still be second to Geraldine Ferraro.

I know you are blinded by ideology, but no one can possibly believe this woman is qualified or even capable of being President of the United States. She’s not even qualified to be VP. Hell, she doesn’t even know what a VP does, she said so herself. Again, why isn’t the Mayor of Howell qualified to be president?

No I don’t “put myself on par” with Grampy. First, I’m a liberal he’s Republican. He’s great man who should retired and stop sullying that legacy by embarrassing himself to win the prize. The only thing we have in commons is we are both retired Navy. What I am is “unrepeatable?” You can go ahead and repeat it. It certainly won’t hurt my feelings, and I could care less what you think of me. Maybe if someone was constantly kicking my ass in debate like I am doing to you, then I might dislike that person too.

Happy Labor Day. Oh right, I forgot, working people are evil in your book.

It’s funny, you give me a hard time about refrencing blogs. I must be missing something. What’s bad about this? It sounds like a good policy for the 21st Century. As a retired military man who spent almost 20 years fighting the Cold War, it makes sense to me.

I only see one link.

Communications guru said...

Man, you are really grasping for straws. You didn’t watch the Convention and see the 80,000 people in Mile High Stadium? Again, the media is not liberal.

The bands were were there to entertain the huge crowd, not to attract people. I’m going to Hart Plaza Monday to see him, I’ll tell you how many people show up.

By the way, do have a link to this piece of false shit you posted?

Here’s a link to disprove your stupid, false talking point about Germany.

Very good. FActcheck says the same thing. BAnds were there and there is nothing concrete to show that the people showed up for Barack Hussein Obama.

Don't you just hate it when the facts don't back up your lies?

Brett

Communications guru said...

It says bands were there, but that’s not why people came. It also says no one left after they stopped playing, and it also said the bands were not advertised.

From Factcheck:

“And there are several pieces of evidence that suggest the concert wasn't the big draw. In fact, the lead singer of one of the bands, Reamonn's Rea Garvey, wrote a blog entry saying that the musical performances were not the main attraction. He said the band was asked to perform, but that the focus was on Obama:”

It stated further,

“Michael Dorning, a reporter at the Chicago Tribune, who was also in attendance, wrote that he didn't notice people leaving after the musical acts were finished:”

“Dorning: Some conservative bloggers (People like you) have been circulating claims that a warm-up concert by a German band may have been partly responsible for the more than 200,000 people Berlin police estimated attended a Barack Obama rally in their city. But for those present, it was clear that the crowd was inordinately excited by the appearance of the American presidential candidate.”

You can admit your wrong now. Where are my lies?

John M. Murtagh
Fire in the Night
The Weathermen tried to kill my family.
30 April 2008
During the April 16 debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, moderator George Stephanopoulos brought up "a gentleman named William Ayers," who "was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, and other buildings. He's never apologized for that." Stephanopoulos then asked Obama to explain his relationship with Ayers. Obama's answer: "The notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was eight years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn't make much sense, George." Obama was indeed only eight in early 1970. I was only nine then, the year Ayers's Weathermen tried to murder me.
In February 1970, my father, a New York State Supreme Court justice, was presiding over the trial of the so-called "Panther 21," members of the Black Panther Party indicted in a plot to bomb New York landmarks and department stores. Early on the morning of February 21, as my family slept, three gasoline-filled firebombs exploded at our home on the northern tip of Manhattan, two at the front door and the third tucked neatly under the gas tank of the family car. (Today, of course, we'd call that a car bomb.) A neighbor heard the first two blasts and, with the remains of a snowman I had built a few days earlier, managed to douse the flames beneath the car. That was an act whose courage I fully appreciated only as an adult, an act that doubtless saved multiple lives that night.
I still recall, as though it were a dream, thinking that someone was lifting and dropping my bed as the explosions jolted me awake, and I remember my mother's pulling me from the tangle of sheets and running to the kitchen where my father stood. Through the large windows overlooking the yard, all we could see was the bright glow of flames below. We didn't leave our burning house for fear of who might be waiting outside. The same night, bombs were thrown at a police car in Manhattan and two military recruiting stations in Brooklyn. Sunlight, the next morning, revealed three sentences of blood-red graffiti on our sidewalk: FREE THE PANTHER 21; THE VIET CONG HAVE WON; KILL THE PIGS.
For the next 18 months, I went to school in an unmarked police car. My mother, a schoolteacher, had plainclothes detectives waiting in the faculty lounge all day. My brother saved a few bucks because he didn't have to rent a limo for the senior prom: the NYPD did the driving. We all made the best of the odd new life that had been thrust upon us, but for years, the sound of a fire truck's siren made my stomach knot and my heart race. In many ways, the enormity of the attempt to kill my entire family didn't fully hit me until years later, when, a father myself, I was tucking my own nine-year-old John Murtagh into bed.
Though no one was ever caught or tried for the attempt on my family's life, there was never any doubt who was behind it. Only a few weeks after the attack, the New York contingent of the Weathermen blew themselves up making more bombs in a Greenwich Village townhouse. The same cell had bombed my house, writes Ron Jacobs in The Way the Wind Blew: A History of the Weather Underground. And in late November that year, a letter to the Associated Press signed by Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers's wife, promised more bombings.
As the association between Obama and Ayers came to light, it would have helped the senator a little if his friend had at least shown some remorse. But listen to Ayers interviewed in the New York Times on September 11, 2001, of all days: "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough." Translation: "We meant to kill that judge and his family, not just damage the porch." When asked by the Times if he would do it all again, Ayers responded: "I don't want to discount the possibility."
Though never a supporter of Obama, I admired him for a time for his ability to engage our imaginations, and especially for his ability to inspire the young once again to embrace the political system. Yet his myopia in the last few months has cast a new light on his "politics of change." Nobody should hold the junior senator from Illinois responsible for his friends' and supporters' violent terrorist acts. But it is fair to hold him responsible for a startling lack of judgment in his choice of mentors, associates, and friends, and for showing a callous disregard for the lives they damaged and the hatred they have demonstrated for this country. It is fair, too, to ask what those choices say about Obama's own beliefs, his philosophy, and the direction he would take our nation.
At the conclusion of his 2001 Times interview, Ayers said of his upbringing and subsequent radicalization: "I was a child of privilege and I woke up to a world on fire."
Funny thing, Bill: one night, so did I.

John M. Murtagh is a practicing attorney, an adjunct professor of public policy at the Fordham University College of Liberal Studies, and a member of the city council in Yonkers, New York, where he resides with his wife and two sons.

From your fact check site:

Did 200,000 people show up in Berlin for food, beer and a free concert and not to hear Obama's speech?
Did the German people turn out to hear Barack Obama speak or for a rock concert? The right-wing press is stating that the big turn out in Germany, 200,000 people, was really for a free rock concert.
A: It's possible that some people were there for those reasons, but there's no way of knowing for sure.

Sheppard: Well, it has been learned that before the presumptive Democrat nominee spoke to a crowd in Berlin Thursday, two popular German acts -- reggae artist Patrice and rock band Reamonn -- entertained the gathering audience. Will media report this tonight, or just gush and fawn over the huge crowd again?

It's possible that some people who attended Obama's speech came for other reasons.

Bloggers made similar claims about Obama and a concert after an estimated 70,000-plus people showed up for a speech in Portland, Ore., back in May. The Portland-based group The Decemberists performed there.

Earlier this month, one-half of the country duo Big and Rich, John Rich, performed a song he wrote specifically for McCain at an event in Florida hosted by the state's Republican Party. McCain attended the event and addressed the crowd briefly.

------------
See, I can cherry pick quotes from fact check too. Mine, however, don't include opinions of leaders of Rock bands, nor do they include quotes from Obama's campaign.

Fact check is supposed to check the facts. Not offer up Democrat opinions as an answer to their question.

Brett baby, Brett, my little snuffalupikis...you are so WRONG again, regarding your little ditty regarding the flags thrown in the trash.

It's really kind of funny...some redstate wankers, pardon me, "spies", under the cover of darkness, infiltrated the Democratic National Convention last week, and discovered about a dozen or so of those cheap ass little plastic flags in the garbage.

This caused the wanker, oops, "spies", called their 101st Fighting Keyboardist masters, told them "lookie at wut we found", and sent in pix, most likely via their cell phones. They then went to the drugstore, bought some KY Warming Jelly, and had a grand old wank fest.

I think some folks just like to be offended. The pearl clutchers on the right are a prime example.

Wow, three attacks waiting for me. I just got back to my computer from spending time on Thompson Lake with my family and get these three piece of shit from you. Again, I suggest you get away from your keyboard and spend some time with family.

So, this is all you have: a few toy flags I the trash from a rightwing blog? Get real. Again, I am more of a patriot than you will ever dream of being.

Communications guru said...

As for this article from something called the City Journal, post that shit on your “blog,” not here. If you have a point to make, make it in your words. It’s just one more attack on something that has been debunked.

I still don’t see what his has to do with Grampy’s McSAme’s pandering, desperate and irresponsible pick of a VP, or even with Barack Obama.

Communications guru said...

Like the article says, they showed up to hear Barack Obama speak, not to hear a concert. That was made clear in the article. Of course the right-wing press is stating that the big turn out in Germany, 200,000 people, was really for a free rock concert, but it’s not true.

What did I cherry pick? Fact check did check the facts. I gave you the article. My God, no one and nobody will dare shake you from your wrongheaded ideas will they?. The facts be dammed. Presenting impartial sources to you does not do any good does it?

The people showed up for Obama, that’s a fact backed up by everyone there, and the only ones doubting that are people like you. Even your hero Grampy McSame knows it’s true or he would not be making those stupid celebrity commercials.

Joe Biden and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System

Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's choice for vice president, has been a senator since 1972.
He is one of only five senators who were present in 1973 when Congress passed legislation authorizing construction of the trans-Alaska pipeline system (TAPS).
Biden, then 30, was the youngest member of the Senate and not a leader in the lengthy debate over the pipeline. But his voting record is striking - at least to an Alaskan interested in history.
Biden was a reliable "no" on TAPS. In July, when the Senate passed the Gravel-Stevens amendment allowing immediate construction of the line and precluding further judicial review, Biden voted no. The amendment passed after Vice President Spiro Agnew broke a 49-49 tie.
In November, Biden voted against final passage of the bill. The vote was 80-5, Biden one of the five.
SINCE BIDEN'S NO VOTE, THAT PIPELINE HAS SUPPLIED 15 BILLION BARRELS OF OIL INTO OUR DOMESTIC SUPPLIES HERE IN AMERICA.

Biden received 5 deferments before being declared medically ineligible for Vietnam
By RANDALL CHASE
Associated Press Writer
1:32 PM EDT, August 31, 2008

DOVER, Del. (AP) _ Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden received five student draft deferments during the Vietnam War, the same number of deferments received by Vice President Dick Cheney, and later was disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager.

Officials with Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama's campaign released Biden's Selective Service records at the request of The Associated Press. Less detailed records were available from a National Archives facility in Philadelphia.

According to the documents, Biden, 65, received several deferments while he was an undergraduate at the University of Delaware and later as a law student at Syracuse University. A month after undergoing a physical exam in April 1968, Biden received a Selective Service classification of 1-Y, meaning he was available for service only in the event of national emergency.

"As a result of a physical exam on April 5, 1968, Joe Biden was classified 1-Y and disqualified from service because of asthma as a teenager," said David Wade, a campaign spokesman.

In "Promises to Keep," a memoir that was published last year and became an instant best-seller after he was tapped as Obama's running mate, Biden never mentions his asthma, recounting an active childhood, work as a lifeguard and football exploits in high school.

The Obama campaign pointed to media interviews from 1987, when Biden was making his first bid for the presidency, that mention his asthma.

Military service and questions about which presidential ticket would be stronger on national security are intertwined in the presidential race. Republican John McCain, a former Navy pilot who spent 5½ years in a Vietnamese prison, has argued that he has stronger background to be commander in chief. Democratic nominee Barack Obama counters that McCain would continue a wrong-headed foreign policy from the Bush administration.

Biden has had extensive experience with national security issues in the Senate. McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, has been Alaska governor for two years and before that was a small-town mayor.

Biden's five student deferments equal the number given to Vice President Dick Cheney, who has been quoted as saying he had "other priorities" than military service in the 1960s.

According to records AP obtained from the National Archives, Biden registered Feb. 15, 1961, with the Selective Service, when he was an 18-year-old student at Archmere Academy in Wilmington. The archives documents do not include any information about his classification or physical exam.

Documents provided by the Obama campaign indicate Biden received a classification questionnaire in October 1963, when he was enrolled at the University of Delaware, and received his first 2-S student deferment a month later. Additional deferments were granted in roughly 12-month intervals, the last coming in January 1968, shortly before he graduated from law school at Syracuse University.

Then in April 1968, when he was 25, Biden was disqualified from service due to asthma.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Something does not sound quite right here, No mention of Asthma or any Health Issue at the First Draft Physical in 1961? No mention of any illness in his Biography or in any of his speeches about his active youth and participation in various sports?

Joe Biden seems like a man that the liberals could love. Hates the military and doesn't have the judgment on oil.

Any proof of this false and ridiculous charge that he hates the military? Here’s the difference between Joe Biden and Dick Cheney in regard to deferments, Joe Biden is not a warmonger like the rest of the idiots who pushed us into this unnecessary invasion. In fact, all of the people in the Bush Whitehouse had never served in the military, including you, are cheerleaders for this stupid war yet have never served.

JOe Biden voted for the Iraq war. I guess that makes him a "warmonger" as well.
