Now that Barack Obama has chosen Sen. Joe Biden as his running mate, attention and speculation has shifted to who Grampy McSame will choose as a running mate.
The early favorite was Paris Hilton for a number of obvious reasons, including she has a much better energy plan than McSame. My source who said Paris was the one was obviously mistaken. There was then speculation that he would choose a pro-choice Republican – which is as rare as snow in July – such as Tom Ridge or Democrat turncoat Joe Lieberman. However, the extreme conservative rightwing element of the party that controls the Grand Oil Party went berserk, and it appears very unlikely that will occur.
However, many people have speculated a pro-choice candidate was never seriously considered, and that was just a ploy by McSame for the extremists to be able to swallow Mitt "Who Let the Dogs Out" Romney as the choice for VP. Romney is a Mormon, and that does not sit well with the extremist evangelicals that have hijacked the GOP. A candidate's religion should play zero role in an election, but this is the GOP.
Before Romney can be named as the VP, his staff is busy trying to find out how many homes he owns.
The conventional wisdom is that Romney, the son of former Michigan Gov. George Romney, will help win the swing state of Michigan that has not gone for a Republican presidential candidate since 1988. To anyone who watched the debates between McSame and Romney it was very clear the two could not even stand to be in the same room together, but the one thing McSame has proved over the years is that he will say anything, do anything, flip-flop on any position and cozy up to anyone that will help him win what he calls the "prize." After all, he embraced Bush/Rove after they smeared and attacked his family in the 2000 primary.
Romney won the GOP Presidential primary here in January, and I hear Republicans claim Romney as a hometown boy. That’s' a stretch, and if that was the case why was he the Governor of Massachusetts and not Michigan?
He was born here and went to high school here, but that was only because that was where his parents lived. In other words, he had no other choice but to live here with his parents. The first time he had a choice to live in Michigan after he graduated from high school, he said no thanks. At anytime he could have moved back here. He has a brother that stayed, why not Mitt?
To say he is Michigan's favorite son is simply not true.

Sounds like someone is worried about Romney being Vice President. It's interesting that the writer says that religion shouldn't matter in an election yet he is of the party that is constantly berating evangelicals.
How many times have we heard the liberals complain about Oral Roberts University, the late Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson?
He also complains that Romney doesn't live in Michigan any longer. That he only lived here because he had to when he was a child. Yet, Obama didn't grow up in Illinois....or even the United States for that matter.

On another matter, a Federal Judge, Robert Holmes Bell ruled today...
"IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Defendant Terri Lynn Land, as Michigan's Secretary of State, SHALL re-examine the petitions filed seeking a recall election against Representative Dillon of Michigan's 17th House District WITHOUT consideration of the M.C.L. § 168.957 requirements that (1) recall petition circulators be registered to vote, and that (2) recall petition circulators be residents of the legislative district of the official to be recalled.
If upon such re-examination Defendant determines that the required 8,724 valid signatures were gathered, then Defendant SHALL place the recall against Representative Dillon on the November 4, 2008, general election ballot."
It looks like Speaker Dillon will have to not only deal with his election, but a recall as well on election day.

Judge Bell ruled that the MI Secretary of State MUST count the 2,053 recall petition signatures that had previously been rejected because the people who collected them were not registered voters in Speaker Dillon's district. Judge Bell ruled that Michigan's laws restricting circulators were unconstitutional violations of the First Amendment's right to free speech.
From Judge Bell's injunction:

You're also back to your old debating style of ignoring what you can't respond to. The complex ruling does not put it on the ballot like you tried to say. Are you denying that? Again, what does it have to do with Romney? I notice don't see this on your "blog."
This ruling is wrong, and I hope it's appealed. It has nothing to do with Andy Dillon. He will be reelected in November, and the recall, if it makes it on the ballot, will also fail, especially if it's on the November ballot when people normally vote. This just ensured a small minority can undo the will of the majority in the person's district. Plus, some outsider can come in and undue the will of the majority of the people who actually live in the person's district for simply doing his job.
A major victory? How do you figure? This is a major defeat for democracy. It just makes it easier to for an outside minority to come in and undo the will of the majority who actually live in the area the person represents. This perverts the entire reason for having a recall law on the books. It's for misconduct in office, not for doing the right thing and making a needed vote.
This will have zero effect on Andy Dillon. He will win reelection in November, and if the recall makes it on the November ballot it will be easily defeated. Now, if it was a stealth election like drolet was hoping for, then perhaps he might have been recalled. But the fraud investigation by the state police has not yet been completed. Those signatures collected by fraud should be thrown out.
The only thugs were the paid ones drolet brought in from outside the district.

If you will remember (even if you don't admit it), when I used my daughter as an example the first time, it was after I had shown her your words and my words and asked her if she understood. She did, you didn't.
"Whatever" is a typical response from pre-teen kids. It may also be for teens, but my daughters are 11 and 12, so I'm not able to judge teen speak yet and the one thing that I do know about teenagers (my son is an older teen) is that none of us are as smart as an 18 year old. We all knew everything at 18. From there, we've just all gone downhill (if you don't have an 18 year old, you won't understand this, but you're probably lucky).

He was also once was a write for the weekly conservative news magazine Insight and a research fellow at the Heritage Foundation. If he was "disgruntled" at the American Spectator like you falsely claim, then he could have left and worked for any rightwing publication he chose.
