This is a platform to comment on local, state and national politics and political news. A special area of interest is the role of corporate media in politics as we move closer and closer to one huge corporation owning all of the media outlets in the country and stifling all independent and critical voices. It will also focus on the absurd 30-plus year Nixonesque political strategy of the “liberal media” lie. This blog is on temporary hiatus because of my job and thin-skinned Republicans.

Senate GOP rams cuts through
For some great TV tune in to Senate TV on the Senate web site. At this late hour – 7:30 p.m. – the Senate is still debating Senate Bill 220, the Appropriations Supplemental.
After just being discharged from the Senate Appropriations Committee, the Senate now has to approve a 38-page bill without even reading it, at lest for the Democrats.
This is the Top Secret plan Mike Bishop took so much trouble to keep from everyone. Sen. Liz Brater had the best quote.
“I’m not surprised it took you so long to revel these cuts,” she said. I would be embarrassed too.”
Just from the debate the cuts include reductions of $65.3 million from Community Health, $14.7 in Transportation and $35 million from Human Services.
