Proponent of Defense of Marriage becomes marriage causality

CORRECTION – I wrote in this post that I never saw an article in the Daily Press & Argus on Chris Ward’s divorce, but a friend pointed out to me that’s not the case. A story on Ward ran in February written by Jim Totten. According to the article, Chris Ward filed for the divorce on Nov. 28 and his wife was served with the divorce papers on Jan. 16 of this year.
I apologize for the mistake and to the Press & Argus.

So much for being the party of “family values.” According to the Daily Press & Argus, State Sen. Valde Garcia becomes the second of the three Livingston County state lawmakers to go through a divorce in the last year.

A divorce can happen to the best of us through no fault of our own, and there are two sides to every story and getting a divorce does not make you any less of a parent, but if you look at the Senator’s record it makes it hypocritical at the very least.

Marriage has been the subject of some of Valde Garcia's work in the Legislature. In 2004, he co-sponsored a package of bills that would have encouraged premarital counseling, increased the waiting period for a marriage license, and required a child-care plan to be in place before a divorce is granted.
At the time, Valde Garcia said he wanted to "slow down" divorce rates.
He also sponsored a resolution that would have amended the state Constitution to define marriage as only between a man and a woman.

It makes you wonder why Republicans - who claim to the party of “family values” - must tell you who you can and cannot marry in the name of “defense of marriage” when they continue to rack up divorces.

It was common knowledge to many political insiders that our other Republican lawmaker, Rep. Chris Ward, was also going through a divorce, but we never saw an article in the newspaper. Maybe that’s because it’s not final yet, so will we be seeing a story when that happens? I would like to see the reason for it, and the actions, morals and values of our elected leaders are relevant. To Mr. Ward’s credit, when he listed his bio data in the various candidate comparison web sites and voting guides before the election he always listed his marital status as “separated.”

That was not the case with Mr. Garcia.

According to the story, Karla Garcia filed for divorce in August, and the couple had been separated since September 2005. The divorce was granted Nov. 2 by District Judge L. Suzanne Geddis.
Why wasn’t his martial status listed as “separated” before the Nov. 7 election? It was not hinted at even on his own campaign web site. Granted, it would not have mattered because Livingston County voters have continuously failed to hold Republican candidates accountable. I’m sure there is a good explanation for the discrepancy, but someone has to ask the tough questions that the corporate media does not.

More Liberal Hypocrisy

Pelosi announced to the world on November 8th that Democrats,” intend to lead the most honest, the most open and the most ethical Congress in history”

1st she backs Rep. Murtha who was listed in CREW's (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a George Soros group) report Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch). As reported in the study and by the news media, Rep, Murtha has been involved in a number of pay-to play schemes involving former staffers and his brother, Robert "Kit" Murtha.

2nd she backs Rep. Alcee L. Hastings of Florida one of the mere 7 federal judges in American history since 1787 to be disrobed to chair the vital House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

The convicted perjurer is currently the number 2 ranking Democrat in the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and Pelosi seriously wants to hand him the gavel. In doing so, she would be handing the nation’s most vital secrets over to a man who was removed from the bench by a Democratic Senate on charges of conspiracy and lying. Exacerbating the lunacy of this pronouncement is the fact that Pelosi, herself, was among those Democratic House members voting to impeach the disgraced judge in 1988. So, for that matter, were the current House Minority Whip and newly elected Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer of Maryland, and Hastings fellow Congressional Black Caucus member John Conyers of Michigan.

The Intelligence Committee’s oversight umbrella covers such agencies as the CIA and the FBI, as well as the Departments of Defense, Energy, Justice, State, and Homeland Security. Simply stated—there exists no Legislative assembly in the country whose decisions and recommendations have a greater impact upon our safety and survival as a nation.

Curiously, having been de-robed did not render the judge ineligible for higher office. In fact, in 1992 Hastings was elected to the House of Representatives, representing the 23rd district of Florida, and has been reelected with comfortable margins every 2 years since.

Pelosi’s damage to herself is already done. As incoming speaker, Ms. Pelosi will be dogged by skepticism — from within the party and without — about her political smarts and her ability to deliver a galvanized agenda.

The unbounded absurdity of escalating the only impeached federal judge ever elected to Congress to the summit of the committee overseeing virtually every aspect of the war on terror can’t possibly escape anyone whose IQ tops room-temperature.

Without a doubt, the specter of the liberal Speaker-to-be crashing and burning before her tenure even gets off the ground is quite tantalizing. Then again, who can possibly celebrate the prospect of the person who’ll be 2 steps away from executive command being unprecedentedly incompetent, corrupt, or otherwise compromised?

Well, the swift boating of Rep. Murtha did not work, so lets try something else.
Interesting report. Of the top 20 most corrupt, 17 are Republicans, and in the five dishonorable mention, only one, Murtha, is a Democrat.

To be honest, I have no problem with Murtha, a decorated combat veteran, being the Floor Leader, but from the sour grapes and venom coming from people like Hate America I’m glad he did not get the post. Hell, Republicans just appointed a bigot and a racist as the Senate Minority Leader.

I guess you guys have to go way back to the ’70 and ‘80s to find stuff on Democrats, luckily, you don’t have to go far at all to find Republican corruption. I also hope she does not appoint Rep. Alcee L. Hastings.

It’s just funny that right-wingers like you are now crowing about corruption. Where were you six years ago? I guess we should get used to these constant attacks, just like the hounding of the Clinton Administration.

More conservative Hypocrisy

That is the Liberal Hypocrisy!

I was pointing out a fact. Wither or happened yesterday or 30 years ago is irrelevant. So by your thinking it was OK Charley Manson killed a few people. You are a joke.
And then you defend it. You are also a hypocrite.

This is all happening in her 1st 100 hours. What can we expect in the next 2 years.

Now we have the answer as to why Nancy Pelosi is so supportive of illegal aliens and promotes an Open Borders policy. This ultra-rich Bay Area liberal owns a Napa Valley vineyard. Better yet, it is non-union!

But, the Progressive Pelosi has lots to answer. Lets start with these questions

1. She supports "Livable Wage" measures—does she pay her employees a "living wage"?

2. She believes in unions, why doesn’t she push her members to join a union?

3. She believes Wal Mart is a bad company for not providing every temporary worker or intern with world class health insurance—does she provide her workers with the same health care coverage she gets as a member of Congress?

4. Since she is a promoter of the concept of Global Warming, I presume she has no gas or diesel generated machines in her vineyards—she should not be part of the problem.

5. Does Pelosi take any Federal Agriculture funds to grow or not to grow in her vineyards?

6. Does she check to see if illegal aliens are working for her at the vineyards? does she call the appropriate agency and check the documents and Social Security cards?

Guru, any comments on the above.

Nancy Pelosi’s socialist political views are exactly what have kept her elected in San Francisco, along with the flow of union campaign money. The staunch “€œunion supporter”€ Pelosi has even received the Cesar Chavez Award from the United Farm Workers Union. But her $25 million Napa vineyards and winery, she and her husband own is a non-union shop.

The hypocrisy doesn’€™t stop there. Pelosi has received more money from the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees union than any other member of Congress in recent election cycles.

The multi-millionaire investors own a large stake in an exclusive resort hotel in Wine Country, the Napa Valley Auberge Du Soleil Resort. It has more than 250 employees. But none of them are in a union, according to Peter Schweizer, author of €œDo As I Say, (Not As I Do)“ Hypocrisy of Democrats and a regular contributor to the New York Times.

Pelosi is also partners in a restaurant chain called Piatti, which has 900 employees. The chain is €“ (you might have guessed) €” a non-union shop.

Should I keep going?

I get it, hate America, you hate Rep. Nancy Pelosi as well. The rest of your rant is just waste of words. How in the hell do you reach the twisted conclusion that I think it “was OK Charley Manson killed a few people?”

I would say you were a joke, but I see nothing funny about a hate-filled rant from a crazy person. I’m also not a hypocrite, but the fact you think I am makes feel so good. Thank you.

Sure, hate America, I’ll comment on the above, even though all of it is probably untrue since you provided not one single source or link. This comes from Answers.com, and here’s a link. http://www.answers.com/topic/nancy-pelosi.
It answers most of your six rants anyway.

“The Pelosi family has a net worth of over $25 million, mainly from Paul Pelosi's investments. Besides a large portfolio of jointly owned San Francisco Bay Area real estate, he also has millions of dollars worth of shares in publicly traded companies such as Microsoft, Amazon.com and A T & T. In 2003 the Pelosi family sold their 8 acre Rutherford vineyard.”

1. You will have to ask her if she pays her employees a living wage. You have presented no proof she hasn’t.
2. I don’t know that she doesn’t push her employees to join a union, and since when is it management’s job to push for a union even if she still owns a company that has employees.
3. Again, ask her, and what company in America provides the same kind of health care coverage that Congress gets?
4. Global warming is not a concept, and again you will have to ask her if she used gas or diesel generated machines in the vineyard she no longer owns. Even if she did, are you honestly laying the blame on her for global warming despite millions and millions of cars in the world emitting Carbon Monoxide into the atmosphere?
5. Again, you will have to ask her, and if she did is it illegal?
6. I’m sure she does, but again, you will have to ask her.
