Disgusting rhetoric on Haiti still coming from the leader of the Republican Party

As the death toll rises in Haiti to 50,0000 so far and the world is shocked by the video coming out of the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere after the devastating earthquake, they are also shocked by the continued rhetoric coming from leader of the Republican Party Rush Limbaugh.

His hatred of President Obama is ridiculous, and it shades everything he says. Saying the only reason the president was responding to the crisis is to curry favor with the black community is, well, beyond words. International aid organizations and governments from around the globe from Communist China to Great Britain has responded with cash, supplies and people, yet Limbaugh thinks the U.S. government should not respond to an island located just s few hundreds miles south of the U.S? Is he still on OxyContin?

The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund say they will provide $100 million each in emergency funding. United Nations will immediately release $10 million in assistance, while the European Union has announced $4.3 million in aid to Haiti. Brazil ordered the delivery of $10 million in assistance, as well as 14 tons of food supplies to the country. A Chinese emergency rescue team arrived in the Haitian capital, Port-au-Prince, Thursday along with 10 tons of food, equipment and medical supplies. Japan has pledged up to $5 million in aid.

But Limbaugh said Americans should not donate to relief efforts in Haiti because they already donate to Haiti through income taxes. He also said on his radio show that he wouldn't trust that money donated to Haiti through the White House Web site would actually go to the relief effort. Where does he think it will go? Perhaps to a diamond mine in Africa?

Actually, the worst place to donate would be through the “Christian Broadcasting Network's” "700 Club” scam ran by former Republican presidential candidate Pat Robertson. He has a history of using disasters to raise money that he uses to further enrich himself.

The Nation Magazine reported that in 1994 he made an emotional plea on The 700 Club for cash donations to Operation Blessing to support airlifts of refugees from the Rwandan civil war to Zaire (now Congo). Reporter Bill Sizemore of “The Virginian Pilot” newspaper later discovered that Operation Blessing's planes were transporting diamond-mining equipment for the African Development Corporation, a Robertson-owned venture initiated with the cooperation of Zaire's then-dictator Mobutu Sese Seko.

We are aware of his disgusting remarks where he blamed the earthquake on the Haitian people's alleged pact with Satan. Well, a well paid spokesman immediately began damage control, saying Robertson was talking about Voodoo rituals carried out before a slave rebellion against French colonists in 1791 that gained the country its independence.

You will recall he said, "They said, 'we will serve you if you will get us free from the French,'" Robertson said on his show. "True story. And so, the devil said, 'okay it's a deal.' And they kicked the French out. You know, the Haitians revolted and got themselves free. But ever since, they have been cursed by one thing after the other."

So, does he believe the entire country that happens to be about 80 percent Catholic made the alleged deal? He said it was a true story. How does he know? Was he there? Does he talk to the Devil?

I have to give Rush credit. I've listened to him for the past week and on the day following the earthquake, he said he was going to tweak the liberals and the liberal media, which he calls the state sponsored media. He then said some of the things you said although not all, and then said it would take less than the end of the week for the moronic liberals to start saying these things and embellishing his words and you have done it.

You really ought to listen to Rush if you're going to start quoting him. Getting information from the Huffington Post just makes you look like a fool. Had you listened yesterday, you'd have heard a caller that said almost verbatim what you have said and you'd have known exactly what was going on.

He did not say that people shouldn't donate because the taxpayers are already donating through taxes. You fell right into what he was doing and it's hilarious to see it happen.

You don't hear me quoting Rachel Maddow because I'm not one of the three people that listen to her. You really ought to not quote Rush without listening to him. But it is fun watching you make a fool of yourself.

As for Robertson, I'm not going to defend him. He's alot nuts. However, he didn't invent the story of the curse. Some research might show you where it all came from.

That’s his excuse for saying something stupid and disgusting? He “was going to tweak the liberals and the liberal media?” Give me a break. BTW, the only liberal media are bloggers like me.

He “said some of the things you said although not all?” What did he not say, anonymous? Why would I listen to that vile crap when people are paid to produce recordings and word for word transcripts?

You’re talking about the woman from Kentucky. I heard it, and what I heard was limpdick trying to spin his way out of it.

That’s awful big of you to not defend Robertson, but if you don’t condemn him you support him. “The story of the curse?” Give me a break. The country made a deal with the devil, and the devil said, “OK, deal?” That’s a story all right, but it’s not a “true story.”

I didn't say the story was true. It's listed as a myth in my research, but following through on a myth doesn't make you the myth creator. It just makes you silly which Robertson is.

Let's see, you say "why would I listen to that vile crap when people are paid to produce recordings and word for word transcripts?" and then you say you heard the woman from Kentucky.

Having a bit of a problem with the truth again I see.

It's not his "excuse". Had you listened to his program the past week, you'd have known what he said to begin with and then how the media did exactly as he predicted.

Using your logic "if you don't condemn him you support him", is an admission on your part that you're racist because you didn't condemn the racist remarks of Reid and Clinton.

You're the only liberal media??? Two things with this. First, you consider yourself media? Second, Rachel Maddow is a conservative? Ed Schulz is a conservative? Keith Olbermann is a conservative? Chris Matthews is a conservative? Katie Couric is a conservative? George Stephanopoulos is a conservative? Juan Williams is a conservative? Andrea Mitchell is a conservative? Wolf Blitzer is a conservative? Campbell Brown is a conservative? Anderson Cooper is a conservative? Roland what's his name is a conservative? James Carville is a conservative? Gloria Borger is a conservative? David Gergan is a conservative?

Pull your head out of your ass. It's daylight out.

Speaking of which, how can you be blogging at 11:00 on a Friday when you have no health care on your wife? Shouldn't you be at the window asking if the customer wants fries with that to try to earn some money to take care of your own family properly?

It’s a myth, so that would mean Robertson was lying when he said it was “a true story.” Correct, I don’t listen to that vile crap. Where am I having a problem with the truth, anonymous?

Nice try by your hero at spin, but nobody but mindless ditto heads like you bought it.

Reid and Clinton didn’t make any racist remarks. First, I was talking about all liberal bloggers, and yes I consider myself media. Rachel Maddow, Ed Schulz, Keith Olbermann, George Stephanopoulos and Chris Matthews are opinion show hosts. Or, I could use your hero's excuse when he is caught in another disgusting and racist rant; they could be called entertainers.

Katie Couric, Andrea Mitchell, Wolf Blitzer, Campbell Brown and Anderson Cooper are journalists in the mainstream media, which is conservative.

Juan Williams is a conservative commentator and James Carville is a liberal commentator. I don’t know who Roland what's his name, Gloria Borger and David Gergan are.

Ah, the personal attacks. When you can’t win a debate, this is what you have to do. Thanks for the compliment.

Gee, I haven't heard you say anything about Danny Glover whining that the quake was caused by the lack of action at the Copenhagen conference on global warming. Again, using your logic, you haven't said anything against it, you must agree with him.

The truth is a personal attack? It's a workday. It's in the middle of a work day and you're playing on the computer rather than providing properly for your family. The truth is a personal attack? So sad for you.

You live in a dream world thinking that mainstream media is conservative.

But then, you live in a dream world considering yourself a member of the media.

Corporations own the media and corporations by nature lean to the right. Not can you name me any liberal corporations? The Rupe not only owns Fox News he owns the New York Post and The Wall Street Journal, ABC is own by Disney who held up Michael Moore F.911 from being released until it got a new distributor and let's not forget ABC also air the right wing porno movie Path to 9.11 blaming the Clinton White House for a security failure that happen on George W. Bush's watch. GE/Universal/Comcast owns all of the NBCs despite having Ed Schultz, Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow right wingers still have a voice on the network for Pete sake Michael Savage had a show on MSNBC.

CBS is own by Viacom who threw Dan Rather under the bus when the right wing got upset about a factual story about Bush being AWOL. They also backdown when the right got their panties in a bunch over the Reagan movie. And their president has even stated they supported Bush because it was good for their business.

And on the radio side the right wing world view is probably shared by 24% to 29% of Americans yet right wing talk have a 90 to 10% advantage over progressive talk.

Even in areas where the conservative ideology and the Republican party are about as popular as a cold sore on prom night that area probably have multiple right wing talk stations vs the lone progressive station.

But back to the subject here Rush, I'm for one isn't shock what the grand wizard of right wing talk radio said.. Rush is a racist douche who pander to other racist douches.

Speaking of middle of the work day what job allows you to listen to a three hour talk show on the radio?

Not didn't "pwnd" anyone Not anonymous spew lies and he's not very good at it. Again I ask the question what job allow their workers to listen to a three hour talk show on the radio?

I guess that would be because I have not heard them. Apparently, Glover doesn’t broadcast on thousands of radio stations five days a week, nor is he the leader of the Democratic Party like Limbaugh is the leader of the Republican party. Glover is wrong. The lack of action at the Copenhagen conference on global warming will continue to cause environmental problems, but earthquakes are not one of them. But shouldn’t Glover be forgiven? After all, he’s just an entertainer, and that’s Limbaugh’s standard excuse. But, if Glover had actually advocated not sending donations to Haiti because of the lack of action at the Copenhagen conference on global warming then I would say more than he is just wrong.

The problem with your constant personal attacks when you can’t debunk the truth is that it’s simply not true. But hey, that’s all you have, anonymous.

The mainstream media is more conservative than liberal, and yes I do consider blogs a form of media.

Sorry; I’m not familiar with the term, “pwnd.” That must be a prison term.
