Misguided protests fall short thanks to the President’s skyrocketing approval ratings

Despite the sparsely attended and misguided so-called “Chicago Tea Parties” last week protesting against President Obama’s federal stimulus and recovery plan, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll just released confirms they are a small minority, and the President’s approval ratings are at an all-time high.

In the survey, 68 percent have a favorable opinion of the president, and 60 percent approve of his job in his short time in the White House. In a direct slap in the face of those obstructionists who staged the misnamed protests, 41 percent think that the country is headed in the right direction, and that’s a significant jump from the poll in January when only 26 percent said the country was on the right track.

I hope the obstructionism and protests continue. According the poll, almost half of all Americans believe the Democratic Party is better suited to getting the country out of a recession over the Republican Party, and just 20 percent believe the Grand Oil Party were better qualified to accomplish it.

Hey Guru,

Man it seems 2009 isn't going to be the Republican/right wing year either they huff and puff, they raided the airwaves with doubts about the stimulus and they still lost on that one. Rush, his ass plug Sean Hannity and the Republicans attack president Obama since day one and dude's approval rating is knocking on the 70% mark.

But I do feel bad for Not Anonymous and his thousands of different names that the leader of their party is a crackhead.

It’s sad that Republicans are pulling for the country to fail and a terrorist attack on U.S. soil just so they can regain power. Don’t feel bad about brett; he got what he wanted.

I wasn't shock when Rush said he wanted to Obama to fail because Rush is a brought and paid for hack for the Republican party. And his listeners let's be honest the average Rush follower is two things dumb and crazy, it's one thing for a millionaire like Rush to wished the country to fail because he can ride out a depression with that 400 million contract his drones like to brag about. But the average ditto-head would be wiped out but they don't care if Rush wished to Obama to fail they must hope that Obama to fail.

I realize that I'm beating a dead horse here, but you're playing word games. Nobody has said that they hope there is a terrorist attack here and nobody has said that they want the country to fail.

Do I expect a terrorist attack here in this country? Yes. Obama is a weak man and the terrorists know that they can intimidate him. He's proving it with his constant missteps. Today the Russians kissed him off and he kissed off the Prime Minister of Britain. He's making our friends not trust not trust us and he's being bullied by the Russians.

Do I hope that Obama's policies fail to get through Congress? Absolutely. He's already quadrupled the deficit and he's about to do that much again. That's much different than wanting the country to fail.

It's funny about your poll though. You claim a majority of Americans think the country is on the right track. 41% is less than half. I guess that's some of that fuzzy math like your "estimation" of the attendees of the Tea Party.

Here's a little factoid for you. Obama's approval rating is lower than Bush's was at this point in his Presidency. I realize high approval ratings give you talking points to brag about now, but as we've already seen, the numbers can only go down and they can go down very very far.

The poll about who is more able to get us out of the recession is an easy one to explain. The Republicans can't do anything. They don't have the votes. Only the Socialist Democrats could get us out of this recession in the next two years. It's simple math. You have the votes, we don't. So how is it possible for Republicans to get us out of a recession.

Polls are funny things. They are a reflection of the news. The news is still in the Obama love fest and probably will be until he's dragged kicking and screaming from the White House in four years. The polls are naturally going to favor him. If this recession doesn't start showing signs of recovery, those numbers will drop. The questions about his spending are slowly starting to surface. This may not take long for him to be a lame duck in his first term.

I see that he's appointed another person that didn't pay taxes, but miraculously, the guy ponied up the $10,000 he owed from several years ago just in time to take the job.

These Socialist Democrats want to take other people's money in the form of taxes, but they don't pay their own taxes.

But as I said, I'm beating a dead horse here. So you may now start whinnying.

Another funny thing. I remember people laughing at Bush because he was begging Saudi Arabia to lower the price of oil. Yet, there is very little talk about Hillary begging the Chinese to buy up more of our debt.

Don't whinny this time, instead show us you can count. Just stamp your hoof three times.

I’m playing word games, brett? Sorry, you are playing word games because you clearly said you want a terrorist attack and the country to fail.

I have no idea where you get this crap, besides making to up or from rightwing blogs. The only thing I can find on the President “kissing off the prime Minister of Britain” is on a rightwing blog. Here’s what really happened:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090303/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_britain

You know what would really be a misstep? If we invaded a country for no reason against the wishes of almost the entire world and thousands of people were killed.

Funny, no where in this thread can I find where I claimed a majority of Americans think the country is on the right track. I said “60 percent approve of his job in his short time in the White House.” That is more than half, and it was not me saying it; it was a WSJ poll saying it. I also said, “…41 percent think that the country is headed in the right direction.” No where did I say the “majority of Americans think the country is on the right track.” I’m going to conclude that if 60 percent think he is doing a good job they approve of the job he is doing and his polices.

No, it’s not a “factoid.” It’s just one more of your many baseless opinions, brett.

Nice try at spin about who Americans thing will get us out of the Bush recession, brett, but the good news is the American people know better. That’s why they gave the Democrats the White House and both Houses of Congress in the face of the recession last November. Once again, there is no such thing as a “socialist Democrat” in this country, and that’s just a tired Republican talking point.

“Obama love fest?” Man, talk about spin, but that’s all you have. The recession caused by Bush and his polices has not even bottomed out yet, and the poll reflects that. People know who caused the recession.

No, what’s funny is two oil men who are profiting from the high price of gasoline going to Saudi Arabia begging them to lower the price of oil instead of just talking to his cronies or even capping prices. In fact, it’s sad. Come to think of it, Bush and the Saudis are cronies from back in the days when he ran a failed oil company. Prince Bandar is A Bush family friend.

I've got another name now? Keep phishing.

My words are on your site. Anyone with the ability to read English know that I didn't say I was hoping for an attack. In fact, I even made a point of saying that I hope there isn't one. Expecting one is not the same as wanting one.

My words are also on your site saying that I hope Obama fails, not the country. Again, one only needs the ability read and comprehend English to know the truth of my words.

I wonder if Hillary begged on her knees before the Chinese.

Communications guru said...

“Keep phishing?” What the hell does that mean? As dishonest and deceitful as you are, as you have admitted, you’re not who you say you are.

Stop playing word games; you know you are hoping for an attack on the U.S. to prove your ridiculous and false point. Again, stop playing word games, you know you want the country to fail along with the President.

No, she didn’t beg on her knees to the Chinese, nor did she hold their hand, do a sword dance, stuff their pockets with money or lift the ban on flights out of the country after 9/11 for them like Bush did for the Saudis. Do you think President Obama caused most of the debit the Chinese hold?

You claim to have been some form of journalist and you don't understand the English language? I'm not going to go into a long description of "phishing", but you can look it up. Just type into google. You'll find that it refers to trying to steal or sneak identifying information on someone. Usually websites, bank accounts, passwords and so on. You've been guessing at who I am for several months. You didn't like it that I used Not Anonymous but didn't sign up with google for that name. So you forced it. I signed up on google and used Not Anonymous for a name. You then said at least I had to take ownership of what I said, even if I did use the same name, but now I'm signed up. So I created another name, just to show you that other names could be created by the same person and I admitted that I did this while I was in that name. That has frustrated you. So you accused me of being Anonymous, another Anonymous, Liberalshateusa, and I think there was another one that was posting that you accused me of being.

What you don't seem to understand, or refuse to understand because it doesn't suit your agenda, is that there are many predators, scammers, stalkers, pedophiles and others out there looking to do harm to people. I have a wife, child and children that have my grandchildren. So I do not post my real name, my real location or anything about my personal life anywhere on the internet.

Now, back to the phishing, you keep attempting to assign a name to me. You've named me five or six different names that I am not, and have never been, but that doesn't stop you. You worry more about who I am rather than what is said. That is phishing. It's the same principle as going after a password, pin number or anything else that I choose to keep private.

This makes you a dangerous person. Several months ago, I looked through your blog before I ever started posting here and saw that you gave out personal information on here of someone that you didn't like that was posting here. That makes you even more dangerous.

So keep phishing all you like, you'll not get any of my personal information.

The word games are on your part. I clearly stated that I expect the economy to worsen and for there to be an attack on this country by terrorists. If I wanted an attack here, I'd have said that I wanted it. But I didn't. I expect one because I understand how weak Socialist Democrats are on national security.

I provided an article showing that someone has called for one. I received another yesterday with information from the guy that the movie "Munich" was about telling that we should expect an attack in the next few months and even giving warnings about how they will attack this time. Rural areas, airports (using luggage before it ever gets to security, but after getting in the building) and so on. This guy is now employed by our government as an advisor to security.

I don't like being proven wrong anymore than the next guy, but when it comes to national security, I pray that I am more wrong than I've ever been. You want to make terrorism a Republican vs Democrat situation. It's not. I have never heard of one terrorist asking people before they bombed them if they were Republican or Democrat.

I will blame Clinton for not doing enough to stop terrorism in the 90's. It contributed to the 9/11 attack. I say this because after the 9/11 attack, the response of the Bush administration prevented any more attacks on our soil from terrorists.

You don't want to believe that and that's perfectly fine. If you turn out to be right and we aren't hit by a terrorist attack, then I'll be happy to admit I was wrong. I'll say it with the biggest toothy smile on my face because it means that no Americans were killed by terrorists.

You keep wanting to make it a political thing, but one question that you didn't ask, that you probably should have, is if I believed that they'd have tried to attack us if McCain had won. My answer would have been an emphatic yes. I believe that the terrorists wanted and now want to test whomever became President.

If you want to talk politics, then yes. My answer is that if there was a 95% chance of an attack under McCain, then the chance under Obama is 150% chance. That would make it a certainty in my mind.

But do I want it? Not just no, but HELL NO. So if I'm right, we all lose. If I'm wrong, we all win.

I'd like to say that I find it unbelievable that you still think that President Bush lifted the ban to get the Saudi's or even bin Ladens family out of the country after the attack, but I don't find it unbelievable. I am not surprised that you believe that, despite the fact that it was completely disproved long long ago.

Hillary did beg. That's been reported in several places. My question about whether she was on her knees when she begged was a play on her husbands penchant for having women, or girls his daughters age, on their knees.

I'm surprised you even addressed it.

Just like I said, brett, “Keep phishing?” “What the hell does that mean?” I know what the word means, but how you reached that ridiculous conclusion was my question. You are the one who uses deceit to posts as someone else; it’s no secret who I am, brett, and I don’t give a crap who you are because I already know.

You keep pulling for that terrorists attack, brett, but you are out of luck.

Motor City Liberal Returns said...

Not anonymous,

You do like repeating talking points in the long winded form don't you? Anyway for cons and Rethugs still talk about terrorist attacks when the worst attack to happen on American soil happen when Republicans control the government on every level from Bush and his cronies in D.C. to cross dressing Rudy mayor of New York and by the way he screwed with first responder funding.

Not Anonymous here's the deal for your side, conservatism is a failed ideology and the Republican party under the leadership of George Bush has shown their true colors as a corporatist party whose main goal to ensure the interest of the very few is meant and protect it. If anything the past eight years the fascist Republican party have damn well bankrupt the country with tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires on top of that a war to enrich oil companies and other groups that have benefited from this mess.

As for wanting Obama to fail, this is funny because the guys that tell you want to think everyday was a lynch mob squad, attacking anyone that's critical of George W. Bush remember the Dixie Chicks? Now the grand wizard of the conservative movement wants the president of the united states to fail. Not because Rush thinks Obama policies are bad it's because Obama has a (D) after his name that's it.. What gets me these same media whores like Michelle Malkin(who needs to go back to porn) she defended every GOP spending bill and every Bush budget but now that two bit ass clown wants to hold protest about the Obama's budget?

Just be the good little minority and shut up Not Anonymous.

YAWN At least you're consistent now. That's the second straight time you've used that name for me.

Is brett a male, female or a child? Just curious as to who you are fixated with this time.

Brett huh? I would pick douche bag for you but hey that's me. What amazes me is that you didn't comeback with another longed winded GOP talking point filled comment post.
