John Edwards keynote speaker at Jeff-Jack Dinner

Presidential candidate and former U.S. Senator John Edwards will be the keynote speaker at the annual Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner to benefit the Michigan Democratic Party to be held April 21 at the Cobo Center in downtown Detroit.

I stood in a steady drizzle for a couple of hours to hear Edwards speak at a rally in Flint on the campus of Mott Community College during the 2004 Presidential Campaign, and it was worth the wait. He is an excellent speaker.

The celebration of Democratic values will also feature speeches by Gov. Jennifer Granholm and Sens. Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow. Tickets are $150. For reservations please contact Meghan Hodge at (517) 371-5410.

The MDP has also added some nice features to its web site, including a one-stop page for all the Democratic Presidential hopefuls, and a revamped GOP Watch page to keep an eye on the opposition.
